I used to get gout all the time. In fact, it would be fair to say I would get gout sometimes 2-3 times a month. I work in the medical field, and I have to lift a lot of patients, so I had to find a remedy for gout that would reduce the number of attacks I was getting. Plus, I was tired of all the pain. I was taking prescription drugs, but they didn’t seem to help and I was on a very strict diet. I stayed away from every meat but chicken. My family was so tired of chicken, we hardly eat it anymore. Here are some of my favorite gout remedies that I feel have contributed to my what is now a virtually gout free life.
I belief in using natural gout remedies and my tried and true one is cherries. I have used this over the past couple years to great effect. Drinking cherry juice daily has really helped me. It eventually reduce my attacks down to one every few months.
As much as I like cherries, drinking cherry juice every day does eventually get old. Fortunately, I was recently turned on to alfalfa. It has turned out to be an herbal remedy for gout from heaven. I never would have imagined this herb would help. I bought some supplements from a scientifically proven source, Shaklee, and have been on it for a couple months and have not even had to use ibuprofen to help stop the “twinges” of a small attack like I had to do when I was on cherries. I’d like to add i ran out of cherries and have not had any cherry juice in a couple months. I will probably supplement the juice from time to time just because cherries are so healthy for other things as well.
