When decorating a nursery for a little girl, the first idea that comes to mind is often pink crib sets. The beauty of this idea is that now matter whether you want to decorate you little girls nursery in traditional frills, ribbons, bows and lace or go with something sleek and modern, each option can be accomplished using the color pink.

Generally baby pink of pale shades of pink would be the obvious color choice if you are wanting a very girly nursery. Usually solid colors or fabrics with small prints look best for this type of crib bedding. This decorating scheme lends itself well to combining with white, ecru and possibly other pastel colors.

On the other hand, brighter and deeper shades of pink are excellent color choices when you want a more modern look to the nursery. This type of baby bedding can be done in solid fabrics as well, but you also have more options as to printed types of fabrics. Lots of different colors will work well as accent colors. The modern pink nursery can be accented beautifully with the ever popular chocolate brown for a nursery that you and your baby girl will enjoy.

The Eyelet Curtain
Nov 2nd, 2009 by admin

One of the most fashionable styles in window coverings at the moment is the eyelet curtain. Traditional curtains have curtain rings, that are attached to the top of the curtain with a hook, and are threaded through the curtain rod. The problem with these rings is that they keep on snapping off, and to be honest they don’t look all that great.

Eyelet curtains are a great alternative. Basically, it is a length of curtain material, but instead of attaching rings to the top of the material, they are actually sewn right into the curtain itself. These curtains look fantastic, giving a very soft and inviting atmosphere to your home. The curtain naturally falls in waves, which look great in either the living room or the bedroom

Learning to Travel
Nov 2nd, 2009 by admin

I takes a while to learn how to travel the world. At first, you’ll make dumb mistakes all the time. You’ll forget your passport, you’ll forget to lock your hotel door, you’ll make friends with shady people who are bad influences or worse, you’ll get sick, you’ll get lost, and you’ll get depressed and lonely and exhausted. With time, however, you’ll learn how to take care of yourself, take care of your possessions, and take care of your sanity. One of the main keys to this is giving yourself permission to chill out and not do anything, even for days on end. This is much easier to do when you are traveling for a long period of time, but it’s also necessary when you are going for just a short while. This is especially important if you are traveling with another person, because let’s face it: we humans need space in order to get our heads straight and to stay calm and happy!
