As a skateboarder one of my biggest expenses is shoes. When all you have is a board with nothing connecting you to it but the grip tape it is so important to have good shoes. On top of that all the tricks you do rely on your feet gripping to the deck. Now for those not so in the know, grip tape is essentially sandpaper which is stuck to the top of the skateboard deck. This abrasive surface grips really well onto the soft rubber soles which most skate shoes have. All in all it is brilliant except for one thing - shoes wear out so fast! What can we do? Well not much except replace them. Hence the need to find a great source of cheap skate shoes. A pair a month is not unusual, and that can get really expensive really fast.
