The newest thing in hair implants are one constructed out of man made material. These hair plugs are inserted just like the natural ones the only difference is they are not donated from the patient’s head. In the past, if someone wanted hair implants the cosmetic surgeon would be required to remove hair follicles from another part of the scalp.
There were two ways of doing this. The first way involved removing an entire strip of scalp with good hair growth on it. The individual hair follicles were then removed from this strip and inserted into the bald area. The newer method involved removing individual hair units from any where on the body and then implanting those. The new artificial hair implants actually are made of a material that is not natural hair and they are inserted into the bald spot. They come in many colors and textures in order to match the surrounding hair.
