Is Your Supply Chain Lean?
December 23rd, 2009 by admin

Running an organization and working to improve the business may start at the supply chain. This is an improvement commonly called the lean supply chain where as a company has been able to reorganize or restructure its processes in order to employ a solution by which it minimizes the costs in its supply chain. The term minimizing costs is broad in that costs can be quantified in time, waste, actual dollars, materials, and steps in the process.

A lean supply chain typically has a dramatic effect on a company’s bottom line in that these are savings which typically drop right down to the net line, mainly because these expenses are already budgeted for through percentage allocations. If the lean supply chain has been achieved through improving time allotment or the number of steps in the process then it could result in a significant productivity of the business or if improving the time, it could result in a savings of employment costs. All in all, a lean supply chain increases the health of a business.
