With the number of different doors available on the market, you would be forgiven by thinking that there is also a great number of different door locks available. The truth is that this simply isn’t true. Door lock technology hasn’t really moved on much at all in the past 50 years. Perhaps the most notable exception to this is that of the multi-point lock available on the newer uPVC type doors. These types of lock shoot multiple bolts in to the frames at different points and consequently give you one of the securest doors on the market. If you live in an area where you don’t sleep to well at night you may well be advised to invest in a whole new door and not just a new front door lock.
