Quite unexpectedly 2 rolling duffle bags became the center of attention at Heathrow Airport on January 2nd, 2009. Security confiscated the 2 blue leather bags on wheels after an anonymous bomb alert and secured the items in a deserted hangar at the very far end of the premises. The bags had drawn attention after having been stored away without any passenger showing up to claim them.
When all of a sudden a ticking sound emerged from the smaller bag customs officer McMonaugh felt obligated to immediately call security. After the bomb squat had arrived and opened the rolling duffle bags in question they only found an old alarm clock inside. Even though the tax payer´s money allowed for this security stunt many might feel it is worth the expenses.
