History Of The Famous Berenger Dolls
Jan 29th, 2010 by

Berenguer Dolls have a lifelike quality to them that almost seems a little creepy. The minds of two great artists shouldn’t go unknown, so I am going to cover a little bit about them.

Berenguer dolls originally came from a family in Spain, where the life of many artists are born. One artist by the name of Jose Berenguer became obsessed with recreating the image of a baby on a doll. And he intended to devote his whole life into his work.

Jose Berenguer began his passion for creating dolls in the mid 1940’s. He was fulfilling his dream of crafting dolls in his image. Every doll would be flawless in capturing every innocent look of a baby.

The most popular Berenguer dolls today are the original and reborn brands. The reborn doll is the second brand of the doll, making them even more valuable. In his time however Chelito and Pepin dolls were the most popular.

By sometime in the 1950’s his work started to get noticed, and he became very popular very fast. By the 1960’s he decided to pass his work onto his very own son Salvador. Being the air of a generation of great artists this was a very inspiring passing.

Salvador was able to continue his fathers work with the same joy and passion of his father. He took as much pride in his creations as his father, eventually becoming a masterful doll crafter.

Known by the popular name BERJUSA JC Toys was introduce into america in the 1980’s. Very popular in the market for producing very lifelike quality dolls. Of course the artist behind all of this was Salvador himself.

Great passion and devotion to art is what has carried Jose Berenguer’s artwork this far. Through the same dedication and pride his son has, only he could have kept his vision alive. Today Jose Berenguer would be a proud father to one of the most populart doll artists known today.
