Male Nose Job - Male Cosmetic Surgery

The male nose job or rhinoplasty surgery is a cosmetic surgery procedure that alters the shape of the nose and is essentially the same for men as it is for women. For men the surgery is performed to change the shape and contour the nose for both aesthetic and/or health-related reasons. While most men have a nose job to improve their looks, others have the surgery due to breathing problems caused by bone or cartilage defects and deformities.

Aesthetically a male nose job will change different parts of the nose which include the tip, nostrils, bridge as well as the overall size and symmetry to provide satisfying results. Often a patient will consider a combination of procedures to complete a well-balanced powerful look such as a facelift or chin and or cheek implants.

The ideal candidate for a male nose job is 16 years and older. The surgery will last one to three hours. A splint will be applied to aid the shape of the nose and there may be nasal packing to hold the tissue that separates the nostrils stationary while it heals. This packing is removed in a couple days while the splint isn’t removed until after two weeks.

It is advisable that your plastic surgeon is board certified and experienced with rhinoplasty. It is recommended to consult with your surgeon and discuss in detail the look you hope to achieve. But remember to have realistic expectations and comply with the surgeons post operative care instructions to ensure the best chance for a satisfactory male nose job.

Who Must Pay for My Nose Job?

A rhinoplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure that focuses on reshaping your nose.  This is done usually for one of two reasons.  You either need to improve the functioning of your nose or you want to alter the appearance of your nose.

If you are simply unhappy with the appearance of your nose, then the rhinoplasty would be considered elective cosmetic surgery.  As a result, you will be responsible for paying for the procedure yourself.  On the other hand, if you need to have a rhinoplasty because of a medical need, then your insurance company is obligated to pay for the nose surgery cost.  Obviously, if possible, it is definitely more beneficial for your surgery to be classified as medically necessary, as it will save you from having to pay for the surgery yourself.
